Bollywood actress and Congress candidate from Mumbai North Urmila Matondkar on Thursday said that the country has witnessed politics of religion, hatred and jealousy for last five years and she would like to work for social cause through her political life.

Bollywood actress and Congress candidate from Mumbai North Urmila Matondkar on Thursday said that the country has witnessed politics of religion, hatred and jealousy for last five years and she would like to work for social cause through her political life.
While addressing the media at Mumbai Marathi Vartahar Sangh, Matondkar said that she believes in Hindutva explained by Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave and Lokmanya Tilak and there is no need for anyone else to teach her Hindutva.
She said that questions by media shocked her and she was trolled on social media. She said that in last five years, due to politics of religion and hatred, an atmosphere is created where questioning the powerful has become a crime, and people labelled as an anti-national. Matondkar added that she joined politics with an aim to contribute to the society.
