The Grammy Award-winning French disc jockey (DJ) made his appearance on the city’s music circuit.
Fans had something to cheer about on Saturday. Their long wait came to an end as the Grammy Award-winning French disc jockey (DJ) David Guetta at last made his appearance on the city’s music circuit.
The electronic dance music (EDM) followers who were present at the Amanora Park Town since 5pm finally got a glimpse of the international figure at around 8 pm. While we tried to get a glimpse of the star DJ backstage, he got out in an unblemished black Fortuner and gave an infectious smile to his fans.
As soon as the French music sensation David Guetta came running towards the stage, crowd went berserk. He greeted people by saying “Whats up, Pune, are you guys ready for the party? This is my first trip to India.”
He opened the gig with ‘Nothing
but the Beat’ which is his fifth studio album and the crowd went crazy listening to the
international star live.
Then came the sensational ‘There’s just no gettin over you’ that saw the EDM fans singing and dancing under the stars.
It was a light and sound treat for all the music lovers across the city. As the performance went ahead, crowd was seen humming along with the DJ. Then came the single ‘Sweat’, which literally saw the audience sweating it out.
What came as the pleasant and most unexpected surprise for Pune audience was the appearance of Senegalese American R&B recording artist and singer Akon and the duo enthralled the city audience.
In the end, Guetta perfomed on Akon’s ‘Sexy b—h’, the second single from his fourth studio album ‘One Love’ which originally features Akon. He also performed on ‘Crank it up’.
Around 7,000 people witnessed the show and it was a total paisa vasool for all of those who bought the tickets in black at the last moment. It was a show which Pune will remember for long.
