Last month, the police control room received a phone call about a bomb planted at JJ Hospital. According to the police, at 4.45 am on February 25, a phone call was received at the main control room of police from an unknown mobile number. The caller claimed that a bomb has been planted in ward number 33 of JJ Hospital.

The police suspected that the caller could be in JJ Hospital and two constables were asked to keep vigil in the premises. Around 11 am, the constables made a phone call on the said number and the caller stated that he was present in ward number 1 of Nair Hospital.

Another team then rushed to Nair Hospital to make inquiries, and they were informed by the hospital staff that ward number 1 was for patients receiving psychiatric treatment. They identified the caller from the inquiries made with hospital authorities.

What did the team's enquiries reveal?

An officer from Azad Maidan police station said: "On making enquiries with Nishaad's father Ramavadh, 60, we learnt that Nishaad was addicted to alcohol and hashish since the past 12 years and was admitted in Nair Hospital for psychiatric treatment since February 20."

Ramavadh also told the police that the said mobile number belonged to his elder son Ravishankar, who stays with Nishaad in the ward at night.
