The Bhoiwada police investigating the case involving the Pro Kabbadi League (PKL) is likely to file a 'C Summary' report in it.

A case has been filed against industrialist Anand Mahindra, sports commentator Charu Sharma, advertising guru Piyush Pandey, CEO of International Kabbadi Federation Devraj Chaturvedi, and joint secretary of Mumbai Sahar Kabbadi Association Vishwas More for allegedly hijacking the idea of PKL from a city-based engineer and local kabbadi player, Abhishek Ekal. Ekal had approached the police, saying PKL was his brainchild which Mashal Sports, co-promoted by Mahindra and Sharma, took as its own.

However, the police, after concluding their investigation, said there were not enough evidence against the accused.

"As part of our investigation, we had sent a team to the Bengaluru office of Mashal Sports and had their computers checked. There were a number of emails exchanged between the people named in the FIR even before the complainant claimed that he had shared the idea of PKL with the accused," said an officer.

"We also came to know that they had registered the domain name for PKL long back, which clearly shows that the idea was thought of by the accused well before the complainant."

The police said the case was registered on the basis of one email sent by Ekal to the accused. However, there was no corroborative evidence to support Ekal's allegation.

When called, senior inspector Sunil Tondwalkar said, "I can't share details on the case, but based on our investigation, it seems Ekal's side is weak."
