This is in reference to “Hawkers menace gets murkier in Kharghar” published in dna of navi mumbai on September 4, 2013.
The story states that if ‘honest’ Cidco officials are trying their best to check the menace of hawkers, but they keep coming to the area repeatedly.
I would like to ask those ‘sincere’ officials one simple question: ‘What about the pre-owned car sellers, car mechanics, car service centre who without any fear of law have occupied the footpath for their business purpose with the ‘blessings’ from very same Cidco officials and thus forcing pedestrians to walk on the road.
The wide footpath laid down for the convenient of pedestrians by the state government on Cidco Garden road in sector 12 (off sector 21) in Kharghar is being occupied by giant tyre companies for their business purpose.
The pre-owned car sellers have turned Kharghar into hell by occupying the footpath to park their cars. So, helpless pedestrians have to walk in the middle of the road and fall prey to chain snatchers.
In my opinion, these pre-owned car sellers, car mechanics, car service centre, including hawkers, must be made accountable for road accidents and chain-snatching incidents.
