The Sahar Police is on the lookout for a person, who allegedly posted a message on Twitter about a bomb on a Jet Airway's flight, early Tuesday morning.

The tweet put the Mumbai Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) on high alert. It sparked panic at airport on Tuesday when it was spotted by Jet Airways' staff and passengers.

According to police, the unknown person had tweeted on early morning Tuesday, tagging the Jet Airway's Twitter handle and saying, "I forgot the bomb in the Jet Airways flight."

Following the alert, the police along with other security agencies carried out a search in all the flights of Jet Airways, during which the tweet turned out to be a prank.

"A tweet was received on @jetairways - Jet Airways’ official Twitter handle. The information was communicated to the concerned authorities at CSIA, including the Civil Industrial Security Force (CISF), and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Standards (BCAS). Simultaneously, the airline also activated its Security and Safety protocols in line with Standard Operating Procedures. The airline’s operations were not affected. As per laid down procedures, Jet Airways has lodged a report with the local police for further investigation,"  a Jet Airways spokesperson.

"We have not registered a case as of now but we are trying to trace the prankster. We knew it was prank but we can not take risk with the security. Every time we get prank calls about such threats, but this is first time that we have received the threat from Twitter," said B Mukhedkar, Senior Police Inspector of Sahar Police station.
