The residents of Marine Drive and Colaba are complaining about gigantic potholes on roads in South Mumbai. According to them, there are several potholes on A-Road, B-Road and C-road which is creating problems for the locals while driving their vehicles, and also creating traffic on the roads. The residents claim they have complained several times to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner (BMC) helpline as well as to the BMC Assistant Municipal commissioner about issues. However, it has been unattended.

"The conditions of the roads, especially after the rains is pathetic. The roads are full of gigantic potholes and even after complaining many times the pothole issue remains unattended. The BMC officials fix it temporarily by doing some shoddy work.

The same potholes open up again in a few days and we have to face the issues again. This is a continuous cycle of pothole menace in the area. Senior citizens and others with back problem suffer greatly when their vehicles travel on these roads," said a Rahul Hakani, resident of Marine Drive.

In Colaba, the residents are facing issues related to paver blocks on footpath which are jutting out of the pavements. "The BMC is concretising the roads, and one part of the road has already been done, but we have issues of paver blocks which are coming off the pavements making it unsafe to walk on the footpath especially for senior citizens." said Subhash Motwani, president of Clean Heritage Colaba Residents Association.
