Portion of Juhu Tara road caves in, not repaired for a fortnight

Larson Fernandes, a Juhu resident, had on September 3 noticed that a portion of the Juhu Tara junction road was caved in. Fast forward almost a fortnight and repeat reminders to the K west ward, the problem has still not been attended to.

Fernandes said, "After I noticed the cave in on September 3, I immediately informed the officials of the ward and sent pictures to them. First, only a block had come out, but since it was not repaired immediately, it increased in area."

He also said that he deliberately didn't inform the assistant municipal commissioner of the ward, since he wanted the officials concerned to fix the collapse. "It is not the assistant municipal commissioner's work to do everything. The fact that the cave in has stayed on for more than a fortnight, shows their efficiency," said Fernandes.

When contacted, Assistant municipal commissioner of K West ward, Vishwas Shankarwar, said, "I wasn't aware of the problem. I will look into this and ensure that this is fixed at the earliest."
