With the chances of bypolls once again looming over the national capital, political parties have already initiated their election campaign.

The High Court order quashing the appointment of 21 MLAs as parliamentary secretaries has given political parties a hope to make a come back in Delhi politics. The 21 MLA seats will lay vacant if the Election Commission of India, rules in favour of disqualifying the legislators for holding 'office of profit'.

Sources in Congress said that the party riding high on the success of municipal bypolls which took place earlier this year, is now hopeful of a similar decision from EC and has already set up a war room and begun its campaign in the 21 assembly constituencies.

Congress leaders said that as per an internal survey, the party is all set to make a political comeback and is eyeing close to 12 seats if Delhi was to witness bypolls. "We already have a machinery in place, we have deployed observers in various districts and our volunteers have already initiated the process of reaching out to the common people. As per our survey, we will win 12 seats and give a tough fight on another three seats," said Chattar Singh, Congress leader.

Congress party had failed to make a mark in the Delhi Assembly elections in 2015. The party is, however, riding high on the success of the municipal bypolls earlier this year, where it managed to win five out of 13 seats which went to polls. AAP had also bagged five seats.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is also hopeful of increasing its number in the Delhi Assembly. Party leaders said that while it is ready to fight the elections, the party believes in fighting elections at the grassroot level. "The disqualification of the MLAs will most likely happen by the end of September and we plan to initiate our election campaign from the October. We will use the festivities and various fairs to reach out to the public,"said Satish Upadhyay, Delhi BJP president.

Another BJP leader added that while the party has already asked the volunteers to gear up for the elections, respective MPs and party district presidents have been asked to make special preparations for the bypolls.

Leaders of the AAP on the other hand maintained that while they have full faith in the judicial system, none of the 21 legislators have enjoyed any pecuniary benefit while holding the post of parliamentary secretaries.

Swaraj Abhiyan, the political group consisting AAP rebels, may according to sources also debut the assembly bypolls. The group had already announced party formation by October 2.
