A 12-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by an unknown person in Bandra. According to Bandra police, the boy was missing from his Navi Mumbai home since August 10. The boy lived in Koparkhairane with his parents. His parents had filed a missing complaint with the Koparkhairane police, last week.

On Monday evening, patrolling officers from Bandra police spotted the boy crying alone at Bandstand. When the officers inquired, he told them that he was kidnapped by his neighbour and sexually assaulted. The police immediately got in touch with the boy's parents.

Shivajirao Kolekar, ACP of Bandra division, said, "The boy was allegedly kidnapped and he was taken around the city. He was forced to drink alcohol and was sexually assaulted.

He was also beaten up and then left in Bandra. We have launched a manhunt to nab the accused."

The Bandra police has registered a case of unnatural sex and causing hurt under relevant sections of the IPC and under sections of Protection of Children under Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

The police is looking for accused named Damodar, who lived in the same neighbourhood, as the boy. The boy was handed over to Navi Mumbai police who then handed the boy to his parents.
