Police recovered a decomposed body of a 30-year-old man from a Vasai creek in Thane's Bhayander township on Sunday.

The victim Ganesh, originally from Bihar was reportedly having an affair with a woman whose brother named Rajesh Koli, did not approve of the relationship, police said.

According to inspector Bhaskar Pukle of the Bhayander police station, Koli warned Ganesh to discontinue the affair.Annoyed with Ganesh for not doing so, Koli attacked the victim with a sword last week and with the help of his servant Ucchad, tied a huge stone to the body and dumped it into the creek.

A complaint was filed by the victims friend Sachin Suryavanshi on Sunday. The offences were registered against Koli and Ucchad under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) rw 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC, Pukle said. Police are on the hunt for the two accused.
