Police record statements of 15 people in Andheri fire case that killed one fireman

The Amboli police have recorded the statements of around 15 people in connection with the fire at Lotus Business Park in Andheri (west) in which a fireman died and 20 others were injured during rescue operations on Friday morning. The Indian Coast Guard also played a big role in the rescue operation, deploying its helicopter and saving several firemen.

Senior police inspector Ramesh Khadtare of Amboli police said: "Several police teams have been formed to inquire into all possible angles of the accident. One team has been recording statements of all people concerned. If required, we will record the statements of the builder, society members, security guards and people who run businesses in the building."

"We have given a letter to the fire department asking them to submit their findings of the fire so that we can conduct our investigation accordingly," said Khadtare.
