Embarrassed at the security breach during the swearing-in function of Devendra Fadnavis on October 31, the Mumbai police have ordered an internal probe into the incident. A man had gain unauthorised access to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top BJP leaders at the event.

"We have ordered an enquiry to see where was the lapse in security as far the police were concerned. The department has entrusted the job to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I) Ravindra Shisve.

The Marine Drive police on Friday arrested Anil Mishra, 39, for allegedly gatecrashing the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on October 31 at Wankhede stadium. The action followed a complaint by BJP activist Sanjay Bedia.

In the CCTV footage accessed by the cops, Mishra was seen entering inside the stadium with a guest, believed to be Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, and headed towards VVIP player's gate along with him. Mishra apparently identified himself as Prasad's secretary to enter the premises, said sources.

The police have booked Mishra under Section 170 (impersonating a public servant) and 447 (punishment for trespassing) of the Indian Penal Code. He has been been remanded in police custody till November 11.
