Sheena Bora murder accused Peter Mukerjea wants to pen his autobiography behind bars. On Friday, the former media baron pleaded with a special CBI court to give him a laptop. Peter, in his application, said he does not require an Internet connection, but only a laptop. Mukerjea does not want to write his memoir, but type it out.

The prosecution is likely to start filing draft charges against the three accused on December 19. Peter is alleged to have been indirectly involved in the murder. A few months after Rai’s arrest, he claimed to be an approver in the case.

Mihir Gheewala, Peter’s advocate, told the court that his client was engaged in the tiring process of writing too many pages, and therefore required a laptop. The court, presided over by Judge HS Mahajan, asked the prosecution to argue on the matter. The prosecution opposed the request, saying it was a security concern. Gheewala asked the court to allow Peter access to a laptop during a specific time when inmates are escorted to the computer room by authorities to hone their computer skills.

In a second application, Peter requested the court for permission to go to Bengaluru, with a police escort, to attend the wedding of a niece. Peter also requested for a razor and some dry fruits as he will be on  a fast. The prosecution will file a response to the applications on December 14.
