Air-conditioning ducts of Mumbai Metro coaches once again gave water in addition to the cool air, this ‘feature’ happened on Tuesday afternoon. On the other hand, passengers have started complaining about non-functional air-conditioning system of the trains.

Dombivali resident Bharat Kumar Bhandary on Tuesday was one of the commuters travelling in Mumbai Metro who observed the problem and brought it to the notice of Mumbai Metro officials.

Talking to dna Bhandary said, “This metro was Versova bound, and water dripped from its second coach. In fact this problem was there from the ducts of the entire second coach towards Versova.” Bhandary added that the dripping was in coach number ‘021M’.

The metro officials dismissed the problem blaming it as air-condition condensation and not due to rains that lashed the metropolis on Tuesday.

The rains have hit the metro hard with concourse level roof leaking directly on bag scanners forcing the security personnel to discontinue scanning of baggage. Tuesday wasn’t the first time when the leaking roofs of the metro stations resulted in tarpaulin being put on security machines.

Passengers of Mumbai Metro have been complaining about air-conditioning systems not working, resulting in stuffy environment. Danish Raj Ojha had tweeted on Saturday, “#Mumbaimetro the Ac is not working in the versova – ghatkopar metro !! And it’s stinking badly inside”.

Similar incident happened on Tuesday too wherein Ravindra Shetty tweeted, “@MumMetro @danishojha very hot, 15min back got dwn @Sakinaka frm Ghatkopar-Versova train, seems ac fan blowing, no cooling. Don’t knw train no”.

Questioning the quality of the metro rakes and the leakage, Bhandary informed that the metro authorities have already increased the fare once and they want to hike it further, how can they justify the increase in fares with such quality of metro rakes?

This isn’t the first incident of such ducts of Mumbai Metro trains dispensing water, on July 2 one of ducts had leaked akin to rainfall inside the train. Video and photographs of July 2 leakage had gone viral on micro blogging websites. .
