Parents and kin of the three deceased students have said the Palghar police are confused and not taking the investigation on the right path. They have also alleged that their children were murdered because they probably found something out or saw something, which should have been a secret.

"It's definitely not suicide, it's a clear case of murder. The police, it seems, lack interest in probing the case, and, hence, are claiming that our children committed suicide," said Manji Patel, uncle of Prahul, one of the deceased.

"We suspect the kids might have threatened the teachers with revelation of information they came across. The management too must be booked as it ignored the kids' complaints when they were beaten up."

Prahul's father Narayan said, "The investigation is going nowhere despite the post-mortem revealing injury marks on their bodies."

"If the parents want to give restatement or make changes in their complaint, we will cooperate with them, and also make sure the investigation is done in a transparent way. If more evidence comes up against the management or trustees, we will book them too," said Mohd Suvez Haque, superintendent of police, Palghar.
