Parents of 24 children studying in Bandra's Learners Academy have filed a complaint with the deputy director of the school education department and Child Rights Commission against the institute for hiking fees by more than 38% as compared to last year.

On Thursday, wards of those who have not paid the revised fees of this academic year were denied report cards and answer sheets.

However, the school has refuted the allegations and claimed it's a 20% hike made after Parent-Teacher Association's (PTA) consent.

Deputy director of school education department BD Fadtare said, "The complaint has not yet come to me. I will check what action needs to be taken once I receive it. After PTA, even the executive committee needs to approve the hike in fees."
