In an incident reminding one of Bollywood movie Stanley ka dabba, the parents of a Vasai school have accused one of the teachers of shamelessly eating from their kids' tiffin boxes, and delivering 'sadistic' punishments like 500-time imposition for playing in the ground.

Some students of Carmelite Convent English High School have alleged that one of their teachers, Vinita D'souza, takes bites from their tiffin boxes during class hours. A parent, Santosh Pitale, a resident of Chulna village, complained that his son Chris, 9, a class-IV student, was punished with big imposition just because this teacher found him playing on the ground.

"Several parents had complained about teacher Vinita; but the school has so far not taken any action against her. My son was asked to write, 'I wont misbehave on the ground' 500 times as punishment," said Santosh Pitale.

"Once teacher accused them of behaving mischievously in the class and made them sit outside the principal's cabin for four hours as punishment. Often they were humiliated in front of other students," said Pitale.

"If we complain to the principal, the teacher instead targets our kids. For this reason, many of the parents often avoid complaining. Now we have decided to meet the principal and complain about the teacher as such incidents traumatise the kids," said a parent on condition of anonymity.

"If the school does not take any action on the teacher concerned, we will register a police complaint and decide on the further course of action," said the parent.

Sister Mary Maud, principal of the school, told dna, "The parents alleging about teacher eating from tiffin boxes of students would be probed. This cannot happen." She further added that she will speak to the parents and the teacher concerned. "I will speak to the parents and the teacher regarding the incident and if necessary, action would be taken," she said.
