Padma Patidar — wife of Dilip Patidar, witness in the Malegaon blast case who has gone missing since November 2008 — on Friday wrote a letter to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, requesting him to help her in finding her husband.

Addressing a press meet held at Marathi Patrakar Sangh on Saturday, Padma along with her brother-in-law Ramswaroop Patidar and their lawyer Prashant Maggu, said they have been trying to find Dilip for the past eight years but all their efforts have been useless. "I haven't seen my husband for the past eight years. I have raised our son single-handedly. We met the chief minister yesterday and he has assured an inquiry in this regard," said Padma.

Advocate Maggu, who is their legal counsel, said: "The inquiry sanction is stalled for the past so many years. We also want the crime branch to pay heed to this case and find Dilip as soon as possible."

He added: "We were very unhappy with the process of just abducting somebody from his house without any intimation. There needs to be a procedure and a warrant as well."

While Ramaswaroop said: "We had a conversation with Dilip a week after he was picked up by the ATS and he was in Bombay. He never had any connection with any of the accused."

Padma further said: "We were just living a normal life in our rented house with little money. We had no connection with anyone related to the case."
