From the last 15 years, Abhishek Nandkishor Satam, 27, has been collecting photos, news articles, books, magazines, pens and bats among other memorabilia that have Sachin's name on it. The PhD student and an employee with Zoological Survey of India, Abhishek collects Sachin Tendulkar memorabilia with pure passion dedication.

Speaking with iamin about his love for the cricketer, Abhishek says that keeping a hard copy of these articles is much more valuable than having video tapes showing various memories of the Master Blaster's illustrious career. "A video of Sachin scoring his 100th century will be available all over the internet, but the cutout of a magazine that has Sachin on its cover may disappear with time," he says. He now has a collection of almost every news article written about Sachin in various dailies, 35 books, 150 magazines, a pen designed by Reynolds, bearing the cricketer's photo and autograph, a gold-plated bat with Sachin's autograph and merchandise designed around the theme of Sachin Tendulkar.

Abhishek's fandom for Sachin roots out of not just the cricketer's finesse on the field but from his behaviour as a responsible citizen off the field too. This, Abhishek says, is the reason why he went to extreme lengths to retain those parts of Sachin's public life which might be forgotten later.

Apart from using his pocket money to fund this hobby as a child, Abhishek would take cutouts from newspapers and sell the rest to scrap dealers to collect money for buying newspapers during the next month.

Many of the memorabilia that Abhishek possesses have interesting stories behind them. "I once saw a book of Sachin's at Flora Fountain and I just bought it. Later, on opening the book, I saw that it was signed by Sachin. It must've been disposed off by someone, but what were the chances of it coming into my hands! A lot of my collection just came to me," he quips. In 2011, Abhishek wanted a camera for his birthday, but was instead gifted the bat as a surprise. The idea of collecting autographed pens also came to his mind when he was gifted one by his neighbour.

Even though all of his collection currently lies in his Parel home, Abhishek now wants to put these articles on exhibition very soon. However, he is yet to gather the funds to conduct an exhibition. The fan extraordinaire has never met Sachin, but has only sighted him once at the ITC Grand Central hotel in Parel. Yet, his awe for the cricketing legend would have few matches.
