Over 2 lakh booked for riding without helmet

According to the statistics released by the Mumbai police, in last 26 days they have taken action against a total of 2,43,405 helmet-less riders in the city.

Intensifying their drive against Motorcycle riders without helmets, Mumbai police have booked more than 2 lakh offenders. The drive was carried out by the local police station as well as traffic department across the city.

According to the statistics released by the Mumbai police, in last 26 days they have taken action against a total of 2,43,405 helmet-less riders in the city. The Mumbai police have recently intensified their drive against helmet-less riders and are also strictly enforcing compulsory helmets for pillion riders as well.

"We have carried out the drive in all the regions of Mumbai city along with the traffic police. We want people to adhere to the rules and wear helmets as it is for their safety", said Deputy Commissioner of Police and Spokesperson of Mumbai police, Dhanajay Kulkarni.
