Over 15 lakh students to take the Maharashtra scholarship exam

On Sunday, over 15 lakh class 4 and class 7 students will take the state scholarship examination across the state. The pre-secondary school scholarship examination (class 4) and high school scholarship examination (class 7) are conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE).

In the Mumbai region, which includes Thane and Raigad, a total of 1,65,888 students will appear for the examination at 964 centres. Of these, 75,084 students will take the pre-secondary school scholarship examination.

The exam tests the students through 50 objective questions each in language, mathematics and intelligence (IQ). Students can take the examination in Marathi, Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, English, Sindhi, Telugu or Kannada.

"Students can expect a smooth examination if they follow the rules as prescribed. The council has taken all measures to ensure that the examination will be conducted smoothly across the state," said DV Sahasrabudhe, chairman of MSCE.

The scholarship amount for class 4 is Rs100 a month for 10 months and for class 7 is Rs150 a month. The council will put up the model answer sheets on its website after the examination.
