Haji Ali Sab Ke Liye, the group which had led the protest against women not being allowed in the sanctum sanctorum of the dargah, said that women from their group will be offering chaadar at Ajmer Dargah to create awareness on the issue.

In a press conference held at the Marathi Patrakar Sangh on Friday, the group questioned the logic on which women were barred from the sanctorum. "We will be going to Ajmer Dargah, which is the most respected one in Asia.

The idea is to express that if women are allowed there, then why not in Haji Ali? A press conference will be held there to ensure that everyone witnesses that women can offer chaadar and are allowed inside," said Feroze Mithiborwala, member of the group.

Javed Anand, former journalist who organised the press conference raised a series of issues demanding to know on what basis women were being barred. Anand put up 14 questions and listed out several Quranic injunctions which, he said, went on to prove that women can be near graves.

"The Prophet himself asked women to not visit graves earlier but then went on to encourage them to do so. The trustees should openly refute what we say. They are not willing to discuss the issues with us," said Anand.

When asked about the NGO that filed a PIL stating that everyone should wait for a verdict, he said, "Our campaign is to create an awareness; we understand that since the NGO has filed a PIL, they should avoid protests."

Sohail Khandwani, one of the trustees of the dargah said, "Do these people have scholars? Are they scholars? We have scholars with us. They can get both Deobandis and Barelvis to argue their point and should talk to us directly instead of talking through the press. Nobody has approached us in a proper form."
