The Oshiwara police are still clueless about the mysterious death of 63-year-old NRI Punykant Philip Raju in Oshiwara.

Raju was visited Green Heights building in Oshiwara on Sunday morning to buy a duplex flat. He went there again at 6pm and his body was found on the building’s fourth floor parking area at 7pm.

On Thursday, DCP Chhering Dorje and a few officers did a dummy test of the incident.

The reports of the second post-mortem and viscera report, which can throw light on the cause of death are awaited.

“We have questioned over 50 people, including the builder. Initially, they were reluctant to disclose anything but on further questioning some people working on 17th floor said they saw Raju that day,” said a police officer.

“One of them said he saw Raju sitting on edge of the 27th floor. When he asked Raju why he was sitting there, Raju said he was enjoying fresh air,” said a police officer.

“There are doubts why the workers did not say this the first time. Maybe they cooked up the story later,” said Dorje.

Dorje said he is unaware that Lashkariya builders have sought anticipatory bail. He said the police have no evidence against anyone.

The police had done a dummy test. “We threw the dummy from the 7th and 27th floors. In that test, the dummy fell outside the building. But when the dummy was pushed softly from both floors (like falling accidentally), it fell on a nearby spot where body was found,” said Dorje.

“We’re probing from all possible angles. If a person went there to buy a flat, why would he kill himself?” added Dorje.
