Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' decision of supporting the Shiv Sena in the mayoral elections of the BMC shows that the BJP has surrendered before the Sena and has failed to garner enough support .

The Congress and the NCP boycotted Fadnavis' tea party meeting on the eve of the budget session of the state assembly on Sunday.

Opposition leader and Congress MLA Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said what happened to the BJP "s transparency issue and why the BJP took eight days after the BMC result to understand that it's not in their favour? "BJP tried its best to allure the corporator to cross the magic figure 114 however they failed to get enough numbers. Therefore to save the state government, Fadnavis decided to patch up with the Sena by giving the unconditional outside support," said Vikhe Patil.

"They had vowed in public not to see each other and had given lot of examples of Mahabharata and Ramayana. What happened? In the end, both of them after humiliating each other came to close again just for the power," he added.

"BJP and shiv Sena fooled the people. However they cannot do it for long. People will teach them a lesson and show them their place. Now, Sena's minister's promise of resigning from the Fadnavis government has gone with the wind. No one sticks with their word. The ruling party leaders are fighting for power and money. Uddhav Thackeray said if the state govt did not waive off the farmers loan, they will come out from the government. Now what will happen with this promise. Whether it will also go with the wind," he further said.

Meanwhile, Dhananjay Munde, the opposition leader in the legislative council and NCP MLC said, in the Jalyukta Shivar projects, a corruption of around Rs 4000 crore took place. "The work order for the irrigation projects were wrongly given just to make money. Munde said that the government has to waive off the farmers loan. During the election, the BJP and the Sena entertained people by giving speeches but after the election they fooled them. We thought that the bitterness between the two political parties have gone so low that they will not sit with each other. But none has guts to stick to their words. Those who refuse to see at each other now hobnobbing. This is shameless politics," Munde said.

He added that the due to demonetization, farmers did not get good rates for cotton. "Now who will compensate to them? What happened to the promise of Maratha reservation? What happened with dhangar reservation? For Sena and BJP, power is more important than people and their issues," Munde said, adding that they will raise all these issues during the session and demand answer from the government.
