Demanding an inquiry into the incident of Malegaon blast case documents missing from the court, the NCP on Thursday alleged that it was a conspiracy on part of the government for obvious reasons.
NCP member Jitendra Avhad raised the issue by informing that former public prosecutor Rohini Salian has revealed that the documents pertaining to the case have been missing. He said that it was a shame that the documents of such a sensitive case are lost. Leader of the NCP in the state Assembly Jayant Patil demanded a statement from the government on this issue and the chair yielded to this.
However, senior minister Eknath Khadse retaliated by saying that when the documents were in court custody, how can the government be blamed for it? When Patil said that security of the courts is vested with the police department, then it is amply clear that the department was not under government control. Khadse responded by saying: "I never imagined Jayantrao that you would be frustrated to this level; I pity your intellect."
