Only 47% students allotted seats under 25% RTE quota confirm seats

Only 1749 of the total 3720 students who were allotted seats under the 25% RTE quota in the city confirmed their admissions until Saturday. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation completed the first round of online admissions in unaided non minority schools in the city. Only 47% students secured their seats until then.

This year saw a total of 9000 plus applications for 7,449 seats at the pre-primary and class I level. Despite the higher number of applicants however, not many secured a seat till Saturday. Officials at the BMC said that the response was better than the last few years and more students are expected to approach schools in the days to come.
