ONGC: Body part found at crash site

Out of seven, six bodies in the helicopter crash have been identified, one body still remains to be unidentified

On Tuesday afternoon, Dr. RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital received one more small part of a body related to the crashed helicopter. According to the forensic medicine doctor, a relative of VK Bindu Lal Babu visited the hospital for DNA testing on January 15.

Out of seven, six bodies in the helicopter crash have been identified, one body still remains to be unidentified. Speaking about the DNA testing, forensic medicine doctor from the hospital, said, “Brother of VK Bindu visited the hospital on Monday late evening from Kerala. We have given his samples for DNA testing and the reports might be out by this weekend. We have also received one more small body part for an autopsy. By now the fragments of bodies will be badly decomposed. It will be harder to do further autopsy of the newly found body’s fragments.”

“We have not found anything significant in terms of missing body parts or debris of the crashed helicopter on Tuesday, which is the third day of search operations. The search operations will continue for now,” said an Indian Coast Guard spokesperson.
