One dead, 15 injured in bus accident on Mumbai-Goa highway

One person died, and 15 others were injured after a bus fell into a 15-foot deep gorge while travelling on the Mumbai-Goa highway on Wednesday morning.

The incident took place near Vaalope village of Chiplun town in Ratnagiri district, when an Borivali–Saakharpa MSRTC bus was on its way towards Chiplun. The bus fell into 15 foot-deep gorge, after which one commuter lost his life. 

All the injured have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The reason behind the accident is yet to be ascertained.
