On-duty cop dies of heart attack in Vikhroli

A 32-year-old assistant police inspector, attached to Vikhroli police station, died of heart attack at Vikhroli on Friday afternoon. The inspector, Sagar Khare, a resident of Airoli, was on duty when the fatal incident took place.

According to the police, Khare had gone to court on Friday morning and returned to the police station around 2:30 pm. He was taking a nap around 3 pm, after he had his lunch. However, when his colleagues called him for tea around 4.30 pm, they found him lying on the floor.

Khare was immediately rushed to the Fortis hospital, where he was declared brought dead. "His body has been sent for postmortem to Rajawadi Hospital. We have informed his family and the body will be handed over to them. Khare hailed from Satara district his other relatives are on the way to Mumbai," said Sanjay More, senior inspector of Vikhroli Police Station.
