With the acrimony between the BJP and Shiv Sena getting more bitter, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday challenged the Shiv Sena, saying there was no threat to his Government and that it would complete its full five-year term.

After the release of the party manifesto titled 'Mumbaikarancha Jaahirnama', Fadnavis hit back at the Shiv Sena after Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut and Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had hinted at bringing down the Fadnavis-led government soon after the elections to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Thackeray had earlier challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address a public rally in Mumbai and had said that even after Modi's public rally, the Sena would win the Mumbai civic body elections.

Fadnavis, though, was having none of it. "Pehle Fadnavisase nipato, PM to bahot door ki baat hai..." (Forget about the PM, deal with me first)," he said.

In the upcoming BMC elections, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will be the face for 25 zila parishad and 10 municipal corporation elections for BJP. Starting his statewide tour on Wednesday, Fadnavis will address more than 40 public rallies in 25 districts and 10 cities, in 12 days.

The Chief Minister's tour will start at Marathwada, reminiscent of his schedule for Assembly and municipal council elections in 2014.

Promising to provide transparency and development, Fadnavis advocated BJP rule at lower tier of local bodies since it is ruling in the state as well as in the country, a move that he said would enable faster development.

Fadnavis is likely to address one rally each in all 25 districts, which will go to polls at the Zila Parishad level in two phases, on February 16 and February 21. He will address at least one public rally in all 10 cities where municipal corporation elections are being held as well as address rallies in Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Thane which are prestigious corporations for BJP.
