Central Railway's bad day at office continued on Friday after the Kalyan-CST local derailed immediately after it left platform number one at Kalyan on its onward journey.

According to officials, the 6th coach of the train derailed as it was crossing over a point from where it moves onto the Up fast line towards CST. The time of derailment was 4:58 pm said CR officials. There were no injuries or casulaties because the train was at a speed of 15 kmph while making the cross-over from the slow track to the fast track.

Earlier in the afternoon a Titwala bound local saw its pentograph breaking between Kurla and Ghatkopar around 2.00 pm which delayed trains for more than thirty minutes. The Kalyan derailment would also affect trains, said officials, even as equipment was being rushed to the site to re-rail the train.
