A senior official of Nutan Vidyamandir's Maharashtra Vidyalaya at Goregaon claimed that there had been no previous complaints against their English teacher Vijaykumar Jadhav, who has been accused of molestation by 11 girl students from classes 9 and 10. However, a former school official alleged that the behaviour of the teacher was always suspect.

Two girls came forward to file a complaint with their school principal, accusing Jadhav of inappropriate behaviour last month. The complaint was brought to the notice to the principal by senior teachers. After the complaint was taken in writing from the students in the presence of their parents, another nine students also came forward to complain against Jadhav.

A senior official of the school said, "Such complaints have never come to me before. As soon as I received the complaint from the students and their parents, I forwarded it to our school management. The girls alleged that the teacher use to touch them inappropriately and also use indecent words while teaching to make them feel awkward. The management committee called for a meeting with the students, took their statements and within two days, the teacher was suspended in the last week of November. The enquiry is still going on."

However, the former senior official of the school claimed that the teacher's behaviour was always suspicious, but no one came forward to complain. When asked whether he will file a police case in the matter, he said it was the responsibility of the school management to do so.

Dna was unable to reach the school's management director Sudhir Mithbhavkar as he did not respond to calls or messages.
