Talking at the event, Dr. Subhash Chandra recollected the community's contribution towards the country and stated that there was a need for it to come together.

The Kanyakubj Vaishya Halwai Samaj during their annual meet has pledged that they will get rid of ills in the community like no education for children, girl child death, injustice against women and elderly, bias against daughters, dowry and vices like alcoholism among others.
Held in Chembur on December 26, the event was attended by Chairman Zee and Essel Group Dr. Subhash Chandra, who was termed as "Vaishya Ratan" by the community. Among others present were former election commissioner, Maharasthra, Nand Lal and office bearers from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, along with other members of the community.
Talking at the event, Dr. Subhash Chandra recollected the community's contribution towards the country and stated that there was a need for it to come together. The event had various programmes and quiz competition. It received congratulatory messages from Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and union transport and shipping minister Nitin Gadkari.
