A 22-year-old woman who alleged that she was molested by two unknown men after been kidnapped in a car and later dumped near a garbage bin in South Mumbai, has been repeatedly changing her statement, as per the Nirmal Nagar police. The police, who had launched a manhunt for the accused, have not been able to make any breakthrough.

According the to Nirmal Nagar police, the woman had approached them on Monday morning and registered a molestation complaint.

In her complainant, she said that on Sunday at around 8pm, she was on her way to a tailor to pick up her clothes, when she began sneezing. Soon, a lady aged around 35-40 years approached her and offered her water.

After she drank the water, the complainant said she felt dizzy, which is when a car drove by, whose inmates forced her to sit inside. Later, when she gained consciousness on Monday morning, she found herself in a garbage bin at CST, with her clothes torn, as well as scratches and bite marks on her body.

Somehow, she said, reached her home and, along with her parents, approached the Bandra police, who registered a complaint and transferred the case to Nirmal Nagar police station.

Sudhir Jambavdekar, senior PI, Nirmal Nagar police station said: "We have not made any arrest in the case as the woman has been changing her statement repeatedly."

About the statement, Jambavdekar added: "She initially said that there were two men in the car, but now says that she can't recollect what exactly had happened. We are looking for eyewitness, but have got none. It is surprising as the area that she mentioned from where she was picked up is generally crowded during the evening."
