The consumer body, Mumbai Grahak Panchayat (MGP) complained against CIDCO to the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority on Monday for advertising 9 of 11 projects without MahaRERA registration number.

On Monday, CIDCO announced the lottery comprising of 14,838 homes distributed in 11 projects. MGP has alleged that of the 11, only two projects have registration numbers. CIDCO says it had applied for registration and had got all the numbers by Monday late evening, which will be updated on the website.

As per rules, in order to sell, advertise and book deals, one has to register the project first with MahaRERA.

The letter signed by Adv Shirish Deshpande, Chairman of MGP reads, “As per the information available on MahaRERA website, out of 11 housing Projects, only 2 Projects located Ghansoli are duly registered with MahaRERA as of today (Monday). The four projects at Taloja, one at Kharghar, one at Kalamboli and three at Dronagiri are still not registered with MahaRERA till date. In spite of there being no MahaRERA registration for these 9 CIDCO projects, they are also being  prominently advertised, marketed, with photos of PM & CM in this Advertisement, in gross violation of Sec. 3(1) of RERA.”

Deshpande said, “Advertisement of CIDCO on its official website does not give the MahaRERA registration nos of the two Projects located at Ghansoli. It also does not indicate MahaRERA website address. Thus, such Advertisement is in violation of RERA act.”
