Following the rise in number of minor and major fire mishaps in the city, several NGOs as well as corporates have stepped in to spread awareness on safety.

In fact, after the recent fire in a Mahalakshmi highrise, fire brigade officials had acknowledged that most commercial buildings as well as housing societies in the city had not carried out the mandatory fire safety audit.
Dräger, an organisation which is into fire safety technology, has taken up an initiative, 'Mission Suraksha'. The project was launched on November 24 to educate people on the need to communicate on ways to incorporate technology that can improve fire safety standards.

Dräger will hold an industrial roadshow to reach out to major industrial belts across India.
