On April 16 and 17, Sounds of Silence (SOS) a youth driven initiative arranged an activity interaction with the children of Vikas Vidyalaya Dadar to empower the hearing and speech impaired children with the use of text messaging workshops. The aim of the activity was to help the children communicate better.

Conducted at a Dominos outlet near the school, the SOS volunteers conducted the workshop helping the children to use mobile phones to communicate. The children were taught how to answer basic questions like favourite colour, food, etc.

Mira Nair, a volunteer at the event said, "The children were very excited and were eager to learn. Interacting with them really made me discover a lot about myself and how fortunate I am to have all my senses. Volunteering for this event was a great experience."

The students, teachers, volunteers and Dominos employees who took part in the initiative all said during the interactive feedback session that they had learnt a lot about themselves and about communication by attending the event.
