New luxury lounge at T2 opened to passengers

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport's (CSIA) Terminal T2 opened its all new luxury lounge to first/business class travellers on Tuesday.

Airport officials said this is the first common luxury lounge in the country. Other (global and Indian) airports, usually have different first/business class lounges for different airlines.

How big is the lounge?
Spread across 30,000 sq ft at two levels (4 and 3), GVK Lounge can accommodate 440 guests. It has some of the most innovative facilities using latest technology—Concierge Services, Smoking Zone, F&B, Bar, Luxury Spa, Shower Area, Relaxation Area, Library and Business Centre.

What had GVK MD to say?
Speaking on the occasion, Dr GVK Reddy, founder, chairman and MD of GVK said, "At GVK CSIA, it has been our continuous endeavour to enhance travellers' comfort. And at the new GVK Lounge in T2, it has reached new heights. The lounge aims to give travellers a world class local ambiance."

Who designed the lounge?
The lounge has been designed by celebrated fashion designer Sandeep Khosla and highly acclaimed architect Alfaz Miller. It is segregated into three categories – First Class, Premium Class and Business Class.

What are the facilities available?
According to airport officials, first class passengers (at level 4) have facilities such as à la carte dining, individual spas, and can avail relaxation rooms, shower facilities, concierge services, etc.
Premium Class (PC) section has fast access to an exclusive lounge environment (level 4). Passengers will also have preferential access to a number of additional services—foot massage, relaxation area, smokers lounge, etc.

Business Class (BC) travellers have a generous seating area (270 seats at level 3) offering more privacy than that one gets in BC lounges internationally. It also has facilities for foot massage, smokers lounge, Batista service, etc.
