Navi Mumbai's ex-civic chief reports theft from bungalow

The Navi Mumbai police are in search for unknown burglars who sneaked into the bungalow of former Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner in Nerul and fled away with a laptop and a mobile phone. Interestingly, the accused also removed the sim card from the stolen phone and left ii in the. Nerul police have registered a theft case and investigations are on.

Dr N Ramaswami, who is former Navi Mumbai Commissioner and was currently transferred to Maritime Board. Ramaswami is resides in a bungalow at Nerul meant for Municipal Commissioner. The police said there is high security on the gate and it's quite difficult to enter in the bungalow who also suspected some insider's role. The police are scanning CCTV footage.

The incident came to light on Friday early morning when one of relative who had come to stay over at the commissioner's house started looking for his mobile phone and later found his sim card was lying in the kitchen. The accused also stole Macbook from another room, it happned while they were all fast asleep.

However, the commissioner learned about housebreaking and informed to Nerul police station and registered a case of trespassing and housebreaking. On August 1, N Ramaswami got transferred to Maritime Board, but was still staying in the bungalow meant for municipal commissioner. The CCTV cameras are installed outside the bungalow gate, but there is no CCTV camera inside bungalow premises.
