Navi Mumbai Keraleeya Samaj will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To commemorate the occasion, all the members of the organisation, around the city from different nodes will be coming together.

The celebration is spread across for four days for all the Malayees in the city. On the first day, it will host cultural events like Mohiniattam and Bharatnatyam performances, along with skits and other dance performances by children and women from the community.

Famous comedian, Harishree Ashokan who has played prominent roles in Malayalam movies will be coming down with 35 artists to entertain the crowd. The highlight of the celebration will be the carnival, as it will have 120 artists from Kerala participating. The colourful event will have people throwing light on the age old art forms from God's own country. Soulful music played from an ancient percussion like the Udakku Kottu will please all the members.

"This event is mainly organised to highlight our culture and not let it vanish in this busy life, away from our hometown. Though we have stuck to our roots, our daily schedule does not include watching or getting involved in such cultural activity. If not embraced, these art forms will soon be lost," said S Kumar, president of Keraleeya Samaj.

He said, "We are socio-cultural organisation and it is not restricted to any specific religious organisation, but open to all city churches, temples and other communities. We work to uplift the society and keep the cultural values of the state of Kerala alive."

The carnival will be a fiesta as it will have all colours of Kerala come alive. From Puli Kali to Garuda Nrityam and Duff Muthu. Other events lined up are shingari melam, margam kali and other regional folk dances along with folk songs.

The procession will start from Tulsi garden and move around the Nerul (east) area
