It’s time to flaunt your best. You have bought designer backless cholis, midriff baring ghagras and matching jewellery, but is your skin and hair ready?
“Navratri is the time we offer some great packages so that women look more beautiful than usual. Some treatments that we recommend during this time are body polishing which involves waxing, bleaching, body scrubbing and massaging,” says Monaz Cooper of Kamal’s, a salon located on the first floor at Four Points by Sheraton, Vashi.
Soft lights, a relaxing ambience, sophisticated equipment and great service makes Kamal’s a superb retreat.
The treatments in demand during this season are skin lifting, brightening, hydrating and anti-tan facials. Trained at the L’Oréal Professional Academy, Monaz believes that if one is looking for an instant makeover, one must go in for a fancy hairstyle. The salon recommends a variety of hair styles which include fancy braids. “We also make fancy buns with attractive hair accessories to lend glamour to one’s look.
The retro look is in too. Women are choosing sequins and hairpins to adorn their braids and buns for festivities,” she adds. Facial, full body bleaching and polishing need to be done a few days in advance for maximum benefits.
If one wants to go in for a sophisticated look, then hair smoothening or straightening is a good bet. Most Bollywood heroines have been sporting the straight long hair look lately.
“Women just love straight long hair, and to allow them to indulge, our Xtenso offer is wonderful. At Rs3,500 they can enjoy the look,” says Monaz. The make-up and hairstyling take up about an hour-and-a-half.
Highlights are another way to enhance one’s appearance.
“Highlights are subtle; they suit all age groups, and uplift one’s appearance. We suggest colours to women as per their skin tone,” informs Monaz.
If time is a constraint, the best thing is to get a face pack.
“Face packs are very popular during the festive season as they add an instant glow and shine to the skin.”
