Preparations underway at Cidco centre ahead of Friday's opening

More than one thousand workers have been working day in and day out at Cidco's state-of-the-art exhibition centre at Vashi for the last ten days, leaving no stone unturned for the 15th mega property exhibition of Builders Association of Navi Mumbai (BANM).

Around one hundred stalls are getting ready for this annual exhibition. The sparkling new Cidco exhibition centre will be holding its first exhibition between December 12 and 15 after it was inaugurated in September. And more than one hundred builders and developers from the satellite city will be displaying property in various ranges.

Apart from the various offers, builders are also coming up with dazzling stalls, which will be a major attraction at the exhibition. Developers have hired specialist to design their stalls as they are based on different themes. The look of one of the stall has been given of an old building of Rome.

According to contractors, who are constructing the stalls for the exhibition, builders have been spending from Rs5 lakh to Rs30 for a stall to woo customers. "The cost of stall depends upon its size and design," said a contractor.

Most of the stalls are expected to be completed by Thursday evening. "Normally, stall works are completed one day before of the exhibition. However, in some cases, a few stalls continue to work on design and get ready on day one of the exhibition," said another contractor.

Meanwhile, developers have come up various offers, where buyers will have options to buy their dream home as per their choice and budget. The organiser has claimed that the minimum property at the exhibition will have flats starting from Rs18 lakh and going up to around Rs2 crore.

For instance, Shelton Group is coming up with projects at Nerul and Belapur with no VAT and service tax. Bhavesh Mehta, director of the group, who is enthusiastic about the exhibition, said, "We are coming up with projects where residential as well as commercial units are available."

Shelton Saphire in Belapur has exclusive offices, of which 80% construction is already completed.
