Navi Mumbai: 19-year-old woman robbed, pushed out of moving train near Juinagar

The woman sustained injuries in the incident and was taken to a hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

A woman passenger was pushed off a local train by a robber near Juinagar railway station in Navi Mumbai after snatching her purse.

The incident took place at around 11:30 pm on Saturday when the victim was travelling to Vashi from Panvel.

The victim has been identified as Rutuja Bodake and she is being treated at a Private hospital in Vashi.

 

According to reports, a robber boarded the ladies coach on seeing her alone and snatched her belongings including mobile phone and earrings.

The victim attempted to fight off the robber between Nerul and Juinagar, but she was pushed out of the train. The robber, however, managed to flee away.

Reports also said that there was no security guard in the compartment when the incident took place.

A case has been registered against an unknown person under Sections 397 (robbery, or dacoity) and 307 (attempt to murder) among others of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police are checking CCTV cameras installed at the station to identify the accused.
