The 22-year-old woman alleged to have abducted and killed the five-year-old Nallasopara girl inside Navsari railway station's toilet in Gujarat will be paraded in front of three children, who had seen the accused taking the girl with her on March 24, for identification in the courtroom. The Vasai court on Thursday remanded the accused in police custody up to April 2.

According to Tulinj police, Anita Waghela, abducted Anjali Saroj, when she was playing with her friends outside her uncle's residence in Vijay Nagar area of Nallasopara East. The three children and an adult have come forward to identify the accused woman. The identification parade will be conducted in the courtroom in front of the magistrate.

The Tulinj police informed the court that they require 14 days custody of Waghela on grounds to ascertain the sedative given to Saroj while traveling from Nallasopara to Navsari railway station. Police claimed that they want to investigate if any other person was involved in the crime as well. The CCTV footage of places the accused visited is yet to be collected.

"During interrogation, the accused woman had claimed that she was planning to kill the woman for the past one month. She showed no remorse and was confessed during interrogations. Earlier she had denied her involvement but when we showed her the evidence she broke down and revealed the entire incident," said a senior police officer privy to investigations.

"The girl was killed when she gained consciousness and was crying profusely to take her back home and it was when that the accused took her out to the Navsari railway station toilet and killed her. The woman later took another train and returned back home to join the search of the girl," said the officer.

Kishore Khairnar, Senior Police Inspector, Tulinj police station, said, "We have enough evidence against the accused woman. Our investigations are in the right directions and our teams are collecting the evidence against the woman to nail her in the court of law."
