Chandan Yadav, a national-level junior chess boxing champion, is fighting for his life after suffering serious injuries to his spinal cord, during the Jeevan Seva Foundation Wushu Championship, held at Balaji Grounds, Kandivali (E), on January 24. Ramlochan Yadav, father of the champion, a tempo-driver by profession, is doing everything a father can to save the life of his child.

Chandan was shifted from KEM Hospital and admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on January 27, to undergo a spinal cord surgery, which costs Rs 7 lakh. With a monthly salary of Rs 15,000, per month, Ramlochan has managed to pool in all his life-savings but still managed to collect only Rs 1.80 lakhs to treat his son.
