The Vasai court on Friday directed the Tulinj police to register a case of murder and negligence against all the doctors involved in the wrong blood transfusion to a 27-year-old woman in a Nagindas Pada hospital just after she had given birth, which led to her death in September 2013.

Justice for victim's husband
The Nalasopara police, which was handling the matter earlier, had registered a case of accidental death. It was justice at last for Rama Shankar Yadav, 35, husband of Seema Yadav, who has for the past two years trying to establish that his wife's death was a result of negligence and not an accident.

Woman was fit till blood transfusion
Seema, a resident of Nalasopara (East), delivered a health baby boy at Jivdani Seva Hospital in Nagindas Pada and was fit until the doctors transfused her blood. As her health deteriorated, she was shifted to Alliance Hospital where she passed away. Her husband approached the Vasai court, leading to the order. Dna had reported Seema's death in its edition dated September 29, 2013.

Will soon make arrests, say cops
According to Yadav, the hospital staff had changed the stickers on the bottle to mislead the cops.

"As per the directives of the Vasai court, we have registered a case under sections 302 (murder), 304(A) (causing death due to negligence), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of diseases dangerous to life) and 34 (common intent) of the Indian Penal Code against doctors involved in this incident. We are investigating further and will soon make arrests," said Bajirao Kalantre, senior inspector, Tulinj Police station.
