Mumbra bypass repairs to begin on April 24

The PWD (public works department) in Panvel is undertaking the repairs of Mumbra bypass four-lane bridge which is bound to result in alternate routes and traffic jams.

The repair work at Mumbra bypass, which was postponed by a week, will finally begin from April 24. Once the work starts, motorists from Kalyan, Dombivli and Navi Mumbai, who drove through Mumbra bypass to reach Thane and JNPT, will have to face traffic diversions. Entry of heavy vehicles will be stopped on this route too for the next two months.

The PWD (public works department) in Panvel is undertaking the repairs of Mumbra bypass four-lane bridge which is bound to result in alternate routes and traffic jams. Two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers and light vehicles will have to drive through the old Mumbai-Pune road in Mumbra. Thane residents will have to deal with traffic jams as heavy vehicles coming from Ahmedabad, Gujarat and going to JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust), Navi Mumbai will drive through Ghodbunder Road-Anandnagar check naka from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Heavy vehicles coming from Versova and going to, JNPT, Navi Mumbai and Southern India will have access to Ghodbunder road-Kapurbawdi-Kopri bridge-Mulund check naka-Airoli circle route from 11 pm to 5 am. Shil Phata will be closed for vehicles from JNPT, Navi Mumbai to go towards Gujarat for the next two months.
