In a marque transaction in the real estate space, a flat was sold for Rs 1.49 lakh per sq ft at Breach Candy. The flat at Ashford Palazzo building was sold by Ashford Construction Private Limited to Satish Patwari and Sarita Patwari. The total area of the flat is 225 sq mts and the price paid by the buyer is Rs 36.11 crore. This will be the third-most expensive per sq ft deal in the past two years. This deal has also come at a time when the real estate market is reeling under pressure.
The deal was registered on June 14, and a stamp duty of Rs 1.80 crore was paid by the home buyer. The home buyer is a businessman, who currently resides in Gamdevi. Ashford Palazzo is located at Breach Candy, opposite Breach Candy hospital.
The house is on the 17th floor, which is the 10th habitable floor of the building. Along with the apartment, the new buyers have even got four car parking slots, located on the third podium level of the building. The building boasts of one flat on each floor and offers a panoramic sea view.
When contacted, Satish Patwari, refused to comment on the deal.
Earlier in March, a sea-facing apartment in Worli's Champagne House was sold at a staggering Rs 2.32 lakh a square foot, setting a new record in the city. The 2,300-sq ft flat had fetched Rs 53.5 crore. Uday Kotak-led Kotak family had bought the entire Champagne House for Rs 275 crore.
In August 2017, director of Empire Industries, Ranjit Malhotra, paid Rs 45 crore for a flat measuring 2,152 sq ft in Ashford Palazzo, Breach Candy.
