In different rain-related incidents across the city, one person died and three others were injured. The pre-monsoon rains have claimed three lives in the city so far. Madhukar Narvekar, a 62-year-old man in Mumbai died on Wednesday after a huge aluminium sheet fell on him and two others at Churchgate railway station in the afternoon. Two other people sustained minor injuries in the incident. Madhukar Narvekar had to be rushed to a nearby government G T hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
"We tried to resuscitate him for an hour, but couldn't succeed," said a doctor at GT hospital. The relatives of the deceased will receive Rs 15,000 help for preliminary hospitalisation and will get compensation as per rule.

In another incident at Bandra west, three women were injured after an acrylic sheet from a skywalk fell on them. The incident occurred at around 1.25 pm at on Swami Vivekananda Road. The three injured were identified as Malisa Gujarat (30), Sulakshana Vaze (41), and Tejal Kadam (27). All three are in stable condition and are undergoing treatment at Holy Family Hospital, said Dr Shubhda from the hospital.
Meanwhile, Colaba weather station recorded 12 mm rainfall while Santacruz weather station recorded 8 mm rain. Though the city did not receive heavy rainfall, it experienced strong winds due to cyclone Vayu.
